Whats is Spirulina

Spirulina is one of the few plant sources of vitamin B12, normally found only in animal tissues. 3g of Spirulina supplies 21/2 times the Recommended Daily Allowance of vitamin B12 and consists of greater than twice the amount of this vitamin found in an equivalent helping of liver. Spirulina is a green-blue algae. The name spirulina is derived from the Latin word for spiral denoting the physical make up of the organism when it builds swirling, microscopic strands.
